Welcome to CARABOODA RETREAT
- a guest house with a difference and an estate with many artistic and holistic attributes.

Set in the picturesque pastures of boutique farmland and breath-taking bush,  CARABOODA RETREAT is a six-bedroom guest house set on 10 acres of land with a beautiful garden, swimming pool, jacuzzi, grand piano, manicured lawns, historic army barracks housing an art gallery, olive grove and a natural amphitheatre for the CARABOODA CONCERTS.

Located 10 minutes north of Joondalup, a stone's throw to the Yanchep National Park and only 15 minutes to the beach, CARABOODA RETREAT offers a rural escape in which to relax, rejunevate and explore the surrounding countryside.

TESTIMONIALS

"The Carabooda Connection - Ladies, laughter, lamentations, love and release. The threads of our families reforged and resealed. Woven ever tighter to keep our hearts warm and at peace. Food, wine, music, books, bathing, adventure, sun, surf, sleep..."  Holly & friends, Perth 2011

HISTORY

The region gives its name to a distinctive form of building limestone called Carabooda limestone.
The suburb of Carabooda (spelled Karoborup or Karroborup in earlier documents) takes its name from the lake nearby. The lake name was first recorded by J.W. Gregory in January 1843, and is a Noongar Aboriginal word. The current spelling was in use by 1867, and it was approved as a suburb name in 1982. The name "Karoborup" survives in a regional road through the suburb.

Designed by ......, the guest house was built in 1985, and is owned by opera singer Christopher Waddell and his family.
